Vertelde me nog een anecdote over the old days etc. Volgend jaar Eindhoven, hoop ik.

He left out a part in the middle of the song. After the repeating of the first verse, the original sheet goes into a series of 16th triads with both left and right, which is in my opinion the best part of the song (I play it myself) .. Still a great performance though.

This piece has more versions and variations one have fingers and toes…
And when composer himself is playing then there’s nothing left out – it is perfect for given situation

This is the type of piece that it feels wrong to clap after listening to. A few moments of silence would seem like better praise.

I can’t agree with you more.

Shit, I didn’t mean to thumbs down that. My humble apologies.

It’s so damm beautifull… The music for the love, pain, life, death…. For everything…
I love to listen to it while I’m working on my
B-room when it’s raining in the grown dark…

Seems odd to say, but he is rushing through this. I saw him play it live as an older man and he slowed the tempo. Most recordings I have heard have a slower tempo as well…

Seeing him play live is great.

Did you know that apparently Philip Glass doesn’t refer to himself as a minimalist but as a “classicist”? Isn’t that shocking!?
It’s pretty interesting to see what the composer thinks of his own work- everyone has a different perspective, I guess.

Well tI think thats because he only uses four basic chords with different variations to create his music.

Awesome but the piece is like 10 minutes. The best part are those fast arpeggios in the middle.

I red he considers himself not as minimalist, but as a repetitive rythm patterns composer. He seems a very humble person.

Here’s to those who can make history with the same 12 notes!

What about people who use micro tones and make history?

Is it me or does Glass look like Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre here? Something about that stage lighting. Huge fan of his musical palette though.

it’s interesting to see how his interpretation of his piano music varies from the interpretation of some others that I’ve heard. maybe it’s just the piece but his understanding of simplicity as it relates to beauty really shines through here. I’ve heard others treat his music as if it were a divine gift from a divine being. he knows better.

One feels reborn while feeling mr Glass’ music cascading down the heart. 7*!!!
